How to mute and unmute notifications

Notifications are sent in the Insight app. Muting means that you no longer will receive notifications. Muting and unmuting notifications can be done at different levels:
  1. Insight App level - allow or completely mute notifications in the app.
  2. Machine level - allow or mute notifications for a particular machine.
  3. Sensor /KPI level - allow or mute notifications for a particular sensor or KPI.

Insight App level - Webapp

On the webapp version of the Insight app, notifcations can be completelty muted or activated using the toggle switch, found in the notifications panel on the navigation bar (1.).
Be aware that you may also need to allow notifications in your browser settings.

Insight App level  - Mobile apps

When starting the mobile versions of the Insight app, you will be presented with the option (2.) to allow the app to send you notifications. Then, once the app has opened, you will need to open the notifications panel via the navigation bar and also change the toggle to 'Notifications active'(3.).

If you clicked 'Don't allow' when first opening the app, this can later be changed in your app settings.

Machine level notification settings

You can mute notifications for a particular machine for:
  • 1 hour
  • 8 hours
  • Always

You can also choose to still receive emergency notifications during the muted period.

You can mute a machine as a whole on the machine page, by clicking on the  icon (4) on the machine tile.

A new window will appear from which you can select the duration of the mute period (5).

You can find the notification setting for an individual sensor in the Comment and events timeline of that particular sensor or KPI (6.).
