How to use manual sensors

Manual sensors are sensors used to gather data via manual input in the innius Operations app.
Like other sensors, they are configured in the Admin app. Learn more here: How to configure a manual sensor

Note: whilst manual sensors are a great way to log things like quality rejections and downtime reasons, the downtime reasons functionality provides an enhanced way of doing this. Learn more: An introduction to Downtime Reasons

To use manual sensors, first open the innius Operations app, and then select the relevant machine (1).

This shows the manual sensors related to that machine. However it might be needed to switch from the Downtime Reasons view (2), using the side navigation switcher, if that is being shown instead.

At the bottom of the page on the left, the Groups (3) button, allows the sensors to be sorted based on pre-defined groups, if this have been configured. This can be useful if you have lots of manual sensors.
On the bottom right, the sensors sorting can be changed between alphabetical name sorting and most recently used (4).

You can see two different types of manual sensor:
  1. Those with continuous values, where the number can be added by typing or clicking the plus/minus buttons and then the submit button (5).
  2. Those with discrete values, where value mapping has been configured for each value. (6) Clicking the 'Submit reason' button opens a pop-up dialog, as shown below (7), where a multiple choice selection can be made.
