Can I measure OOE or TEEP instead of OEE?
One of the standard KPIs available in the innius platform is for OEE (Overall Equipment Effectiveness); but can this also be used to monitor either Overall Operations
Effectiveness (OOE) or Total Effective
Equipment Performance (TEEP)? The answer is, yes.
The difference between OEE, OOE and TEEP lies in the
definition of ‘available time’ as used in the Availability metric, the
rest of the formula remains the same. You can find out more about the different definitions for OEE, OOE and TEEP here.
The Availability measurement in the innius
OEE configuration needs data input which provides the following values: "0" for off, "1" when the machine is operating
normally, "2" if the machine is in failure. The maximum available time is therefore calculated as duration for when the values 1 and 2 are received. Instead of taking this data straight from the machine, it is also possible to manipulate this data via a virtual sensor, time-based sensor or even a manual sensor to provide the available time measurement that suits you. This could be in accordance with the OOE or TEEP definition you chose.
Note that whilst you may have configured OOE or TEEP, the innius software will still refer to this as OEE.

Why does the average OEE over all my shifts not equal the total OEE?
There could be multiple reasons for this.Firstly, it could be related to the timing of the shifts. If your shifts have different durations, then their individual OEE values will not all contribute equally to the total OEE. For instance, if in one day ...
